An About Time, but Brave Post, from an Autistic Person

For those new to the online autism community the following article will seem perfectly logical, reasonable, compassionate and without controversy. Those of us who've been rattling around the autism interwebs for some time now however, will read it and cringe. Not because we disagree, because we know how this scene plays out.

Author writes well considered piece that suggests autism is not all beer and skittles. A select group of self advocates (concentrated particularly in the US) get wind of it, share it around, then the angry hoards descend, contradicting, belittling, outright attacking author and leaving them to wonder if it would be best they slide back into obscurity.  Wash and repeat.

I left a comment in support for this author as I know she's both right and is going to cop a load of shit in the coming days. Why not pop over and show her some support?
